Who We Are.
THE REALSGROUP
Reals Group started as Reals Pharmaceutical Limited, a company that started as the local scientific marketing office of Zeneca Pharmaceuticals Limited, now AstraZeneca (formerly Zeneca Pharmaceuticals), UK. It is situated at REALS Plaza, PLOT 1, ALHAJI DOSUNMU STREET, CBD, ALAUSA, IKEJA, LAGOS.
Reals Pharmaceutical Limited was one of the first pharmaceutical companies to successfully commence the local scientific and marketing office in Nigeria. In 1996, the idea of scientific and marketing office was not new to the pharmaceutical industry. It nevertheless required creative thinking, determination, courage and patience to implement.
The company was incorporated as a limited liability company in August 1995. It started operations on January 2nd 1996, with a team of six, comprising the General Manager, Mr. Ade Popoola, and five medical representatives. There are presently over 80 Medical Reps and 4 area supervisors spread across the country. Its main objective at inception was to oversee the regulatory and marketing functions for all Zeneca products in Nigeria.

REALS Pharmaceuticals Ltd
Today Reals Pharmaceuticals has grown to become one of the leading organizations in Nigerian Pharmaceutical Industry. The staff strength has increased from the initial number of 6 at inception to well over 100 personnel, while the scope of our operation has extended beyond just being the local and marketing office for AstraZeneca to becoming the sole Nigeria representative and distributor of the number of other first class pharmaceutical industries in the world.
In addition to the new division, we have area office in Kaduna, Aba and Ibadan overseeing our operations in the north, east and west territories respectively. Our field representatives are also distributed to cover all the major cities and towns in Nigeria.
REALS Specialties Ltd
In order for the company to work more smartly in the Nigerian very competitive pharmaceutical market, a new division known as Reals Specialties is to be responsible for the sale and marketing of all other products different from those of AstraZeneca pharmaceuticals which served as our spring board in 1996. Reals Specialties now markets the Interbat range of Products and our own contract manufactured products we term “Consumer Healthcare Products.”
REALS Confectionaries
In February 11th, 2005, a world class confectionary manufacturing company, an extension of the REALS GROUP called REALS Confectionaries was born.
This is the arm of the group that markets quality Medical Devices and Consumables. Examples include Cardiart 8308 Multi Channel Recorder, Uriscan Pro urine analyzer, Autoclave , Dental Operating Chair, Surgical Operating Chair, Dental X-Ray Machine, and many others.
REALS Criticare Unit
A new addition to REALS family, set up by the ever innovative management of REALS to cater for the need of a certain class of patients in oncology and neuropsychiatry. The sales and marketing of these oncology and neuropsychistry products manufactured by VS International is therefore the responsibility of this criticare unit. It’s products include Neuropsychiatric and Oncology Drugs.
Our Products and Services
The regulatory activities of Reals Pharmaceuticals involve registrations of all AstraZeneca pharmaceutical products and the products of other companies represented in Nigeria by Reals Pharmaceuticals, two of which are Interbat pharmacy and Konimex Pharmacy both based in Indonesia and liaising with the regulatory authorities on all matters concerning all our foreign partners product in Nigeria
The promotional and marketing activities include appointment and supervision of Distribution for our foreign partner’s product, organizing or attending of meetings, conferences, workshops, exhibitions to promote our partners products and directly providing on all products that we market to doctors, pharmaceuticals, and other members of the health team. Management and Staff Structure
Directors
The company currently has on board, seven directors.
MR ADE POPOOLA:The Managing Director of the AstraZeneca Scientific office. He is a 1983 graduate of Pharmacy, who also has an MBA from the Lagos State University. He was formerly an Area Manager at Roche (Nig) Ltd. (1990 - 1992), Sales and Marketing manager at Jagal Pharma Ltd (1992 - 1994), and then operations Manager, Jagal Pharma Ltd. (1994 – Sept. 1995), from where he resigned in September 1995 to set up Reals Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
MR. LANRE ADESUYI, Managing Director, Havilla Group of Companies. A trained Librarian.
MR. ROTIMI POPOOLA is a quantity surveyor and the Chief Executive of Biga Projects, an Engineering Construction Company.
MR. YINKA POPOOLA is a building Engineer and presently pastors a church in the United Kingdom.
MRS FOLU POPOOLA, a trained Teacher, and accomplished Business Woman.
Mr. jide sanwoolu. The Executive Director (Operations) is in charge of Operational and Production activities of the group.
Mr. Kunle Adesoye Sales and Marketing Director, is a pharmacist is in charge of overseeing the Sales and Marketing department of the company’s divisions.
Management Team
Good teamwork has been the key to success in all arms of the Reals Group. The team, which is well trained and maintains high professional ethical standards, has confidence in itself, and pride in Real Pharmaceuticals.
The team is also motivated by a competitive remuneration package. The company provides opportunities for each individual to develop his skills, and to discuss and learn from successes and mistakes.
In addition to the managing Director, Mr. Ade Popoola, the management staff also includes six senior managers who head the following departments and division within the organization, namely; AstraZeneca Division, Operations Department, Sales and Marketing Department, Finance & Accounts Department and Administrative/personnel Department.

Mr. Tai Ajayi is the General Manager, Finance, is a qualified chartered accountant, who oversees the accounting and financial activities of the group
Mr. Busuyi Adekola General Manager (Reals Confectionaries), oversees the day to day operations of the confectionary arm.
